My Philosophy on education is largely drawn upon and developed on the word of advice of my Grandfather, a legendary teacher in north Texas.  I follow all of these today.

“If you are angry with a student, tell them you are angry.  Yelling doesn't change behavior”

“ Always wear a coat and tie.  They expect more if you expect more of yourself.

“If there is a chance they are hungry, they will misbehave.  Feed them”

“Learn their names, then give them a nickname.”

“Tell them about your failures.  That way they can know that there is a way out of theirs's
